Amtrak’s Silver Star route travels daily between New York City and Miami with many stops in Florida. It’s a popular way to get to and from Florida from cities on the East Coast. Note that the Silver Star shares many stations with the Silver Meteor. The main difference is that the Silver Star makes additional stops in North Carolina and travels to Tampa.

Things to Know

  • WiFi is available.
  • A café is available to all passengers.
  • Sleeping accommodations are available at an extra cost.
  • The Silver Star uses one-level Viewliner rail cars (no stair climbing on this train).
  • Meals are included for sleeper car passengers (flexible dining). You can have food delivered to your room or you can eat in a lounge car.
  • If you are traveling to Miami, we recommend using the historic Hollywood Amtrak Station. It’s about the same distance away from downtown Miami and Miami Beach as the Miami Station (plus you’ll get off the train faster).
  • If you’re heading to Disney World, you can exit the train at either the Orlando or Kissimmee Station — both are about 35-minute car ride away. Get off at the first station you encounter to speed up your journey (or if you want to avoid interstate driving and potential Orlando traffic, Kissimmee Station is the better option, especially if you are staying near Animal Kingdom).
