The Ethan Allen Express Amtrak route travels daily between Rutland, Vermont and New York City.  Enjoy beautiful scenery of the Hudson River Valley and access to ski resorts and other opportunities for outdoor recreation. Total trip time is about six hours between New York City and Rutland.

  • Only one train per day in each direction
  • Weekday trains depart Rutland around 7:45 a.m.
  • Weekend trains don’t depart Rutland until just after 5 p.m., so you’ll need overnight accommodations if traveling south toward New York City
  • Trains depart in the afternoon and early evening from New York City. The latest departure (on Fridays only) is just before 6 p.m.
