Which Amtrak trains allow pets?

Most Amtrak trains allow small cats and dogs that are 20 pounds or less and are at least eight weeks old. Additionally, you can only bring a pet if your travel time is seven hours or less. Pets must remain in a soft or hard-case pet carrier, which counts as a carry-on bag, and you must book a coach seat (not first class, business class, roomette or bedroom). Note that extra fees apply and pets cannot travel in or out of Canada.

See below for the list of Amtrak routes that allow cats and dogs, and visit Amtrak’s pet policies for other details.
