Tips and Things to Know

  • There is one train in each direction daily on the Southwest Chief route.
  • The Texas Eagle and Sunset Limited trains are combined for all stops in Arizona. Frequency is three days per week.
  • The historic La Posada Hotel is next to the Winslow station.
  • Three stations are near or next to Route 66: Flagstaff, Winslow and Kingman.
  • Amtrak provides bus service between Phoenix and the Maricopa station if you select Phoenix as your start or end station. Drive time is about 40 minutes.
