The following Amtrak routes travel between the 30th Street Station and New York Penn Station. Acela is a high-speed train that offers a slightly faster travel time and more amenities than the other routes.
Trip Times
The shortest Amtrak trip time between New York City and Philly is about 1 hour and 15 minutes on the Acela. You’ll only spend 10 to 20 minutes longer on the train if you book a ticket on a different route, and you’ll likely save money as well. If you want meal service, then book a first class ticket on Acela Express.
Frequency
There are many weekday and weekend trains that travel between 30th Street Station and New York Penn Station, sometimes at a frequency of every 30 minutes or less. You can view schedules on Amtrak.com and also via Google Maps with the transit directions option.
