Santa Barbara is a beautiful California destination that you can via Amtrak’s Coast Starlight and Pacific Surfliner trains. These trains travel along the Pacific Coast as far south as San Diego and as far north as Seattle. If your starting station is not on one of these routes, you’ll have to ride multiple trains to reach Santa Barbara.

Multiple Pacific Surfliner trains stop in Santa Barbara each day along with one northbound and one southbound Coast Starlight train. Travel time from Los Angeles is about 2.5 hours, almost 6 hours from San Diego and over 32 hours from Seattle. If you live don’t live in California, consider flying into one of the Southern California airports and connecting with a train to Santa Barbara to shorten the trip.
