In the heart of Amish country, Lancaster has a thriving arts and food scene as well as multiple Amtrak train arrivals each day. You can easily travel to Lancaster from New York City and cities in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Use the Find Trains feature on the Amtrak.com homepage to view all your travel options from your starting station. Day trips are doable from some cities due to the multiple train departures.
Other Things to Know
You’ll need to walk 20 to 30 minutes from the Lancaster Station to reach the downtown historic district (or use Lyft or Uber). Central Market (pictured above) is a fantastic place to buy local food. You can also visit President James Buchanan’s home while you’re in town.
