With over 500 Amtrak stations to choose from, there are many places to visit across the United States. You can travel to beaches, mountains, ski resorts, national parks and many cities big and small. Some of these cities have stations in walkable areas so you can step off the train and immediately experience the unique culture and walk to hotels, attractions and restaurants. We’ve put together a list of these places below.
Cities were chosen based on the following factors:
- Walkability around the station
- Proximity to downtown
- Things to see and do
- Good train arrival and departure times
- Traffic (cities that are easier to reach by train)
Destinations are listed in alphabetical order and include the station code and link to the official tourism website.
