Starting August 18, 2025, you can ride Amtrak’s newest route: the Mardi Gras. Trains will travel between New Orleans and Mobile, Alabama with stops in Mississippi along the way. Onboard amenities include Wi-Fi, a cafe and choice of coach or business class seating.
The new Mobile Amtrak Station is at 101 South Water Street (next to I-10 and the Mobile Convention Center). No parking at the station according to the Amtrak website, but there are city parking garages in walking distance (or take a taxi or rideshare to the station). Additionally, be sure to buy your tickets on the Amtrak app or online before your trip as it is an unstaffed station.
