Trains on the Amtrak Cascades route travel between Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. multiple times each day. Total trip time is about four hours. In comparison, drive time is 2.5 hours and flight time is about one hour. Here are the things you need to know when planning your trip.

Schedule
There is one early morning train and one early evening train as of May 2023. Use the Find Trains feature on the Amtrak.com homepage with your travel dates for current departure times and prices.
Tip: To view the most scenery, including Puget Sound, book tickets on the morning train. You can also do a day trip to Vancouver and return to Seattle on the same day if you leave on the first train.
Tickets
You can choose from coach seats or business class seats. Business class tickets are fully refundable if cancelled before departure and perks include a larger seat with extra legroom.

Food & Amenities
Amtrak Cascades trains have European rail cars that feature a bistro car. You can purchase local food, wine, microbrews and coffee here. You can also bring food with you on the train. Other train amenities include free WiFi for general web browsing and electrical outlets at seats.
